Project Details

Project Name:  King County Integrated Water Resources Modeling System (IWRMS) Risk Model Development
Main Client: King County through Windward Environmental
Date Started: January 2005
Date Completed:  On-going
Description: King County is developing an Integrated Water Resource Modeling System (IWRMS) to develop analytical tools to evaluate fresh water quality issues in the Green-Duwamish and Sammamish River watersheds. The watershed model data will be used to develop a computer-based ecological and human health risk model. Exa is the primary programmer for developing the risk model as a Matlab-based tool to be able to assess potential future use scenarios, and is currently under subcontract to Windward Environmental (John Toll) for this project.
Primary tasks include:
> Create baseline ArcGIS project and create spatially aggregated hydrographic boundaries to be used for mapping, filtering, and grouping water quality data for the Risk Model.
> Design a graphical user interface (GUI) for the Risk Model.
> Develop the Risk Model using SQL Server and Matlab for coding the GUI and applying risk statistics and thresholds to the water quality model output data.
> Deliver the software, training, and user guide.
