| Description: |
The DMMO is responsible for dredged material management issues in San Francisco Bay. Exa, with Jones and Stokes Associates (JSA), has been contracted to design and develop a system to improve and enhance access to the dredged material characterization and disposal fate data. Under subcontract to JSA, Exa has been tasked to develop an organizational scheme for the different types of data collected, including pre-dredge sediment characterization data (sediment chemistry, bioassay), dredged material disposal tracking (black box) data and disposal volumes, and project-related data including permit status. Following design and population of the database, a website will be created to allow access to the data for a variety of users. |
Exa's role in the project includes: |
> |
Meet with the DMMO to assess user needs. |
> |
Design database and database query website pages. |
> |
Develop a utility to track dredged material volumes, associated with trigger levels assocated with specific disposal sites. |
> |
Design and develop a template for submittal of sediment chemistry and bioassay data for submission to the DMMO. |
> |
Develop a utility to flag sediment chemistry and bioassay data of unacceptable quality. |
> |
Populate the database with existing sediment quality, disposal fate, and readily available permit data. |
> |
Design and develop web-based queries for the DMMO database for a user group of different skills and website access. |
